Welcome to Whistling Woods, you're in for the time of your life! Whether you're looking to get away and relax, enjoy "hydrotherapy" in the newer viking spa "auroa 2" hot tub or view wildlife from the approx 400 sq. ft screened in porch, snuggle at the chimney fire pit, read a book, watch a movie, or just take it all in, we have something for you.

I have met with most of the local vendors in the area, and have discovered all the trimmings for your mini vacation. Located just 2½ hours south of Cincinnati, Ohio. You can leave after work on Friday, stay till Sunday and enjoy horseback riding and cave touring at Carter Cave on Saturday. You may want to bring your own boat, jet ski, ATV, or rent from the local vendors (in season). Cave Run Bicycle & Outdoor Center offers kayaks, canoes, and mountain bike rentals for the adventure seekers.
We rented a pontoon for a day. It took us nearly two hours to reach the other side of the lake. My kids enjoy tubing and fishing. My wife enjoys the hiking trails and creeks in the forest. There are several boat ramps for boat enthusiast. You will especially like the White Sulpher ATV trails They are safe yet challenging, and are among the biggest in Kentucky.

I have directions from the cabin to each adventure site. I also have the phone numbers of each of the local vendors that we send you in your "welcome packet" when you rent from us.
Smallwood I.G.A, a full service grocer, has a fast food restaurant "The cornbread cafe", and gas station on the premise (8-12 minutes from cabin). We're only ½ hour from Morehead, KY. This features a majority of the fast food restaurants you're accustomed to, and has a Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Kroger's, and everything you need for your vacation.
Our cabin is centrally located between the Red River Gorge/ Natural Bridge area, the city of Morehead, Carter Cave and Cave Run Lake. This strategic location gives you considerable efficiency in managing your time.
